Class members should be receiving their copy of the Laser Sailor any day now.

Over 200 Lasers/Radials will be sailing at Brant Beach this week. You can keep track of the racing at the BBYC’s site: http://bbyc.net/LaserNAC/

Now that completes our Spring series. After doing the stats here are a few to mention:

Total number of regattas: 6 (would be 7 but BBYC’s Annual was the same weekend as Districts)

Total boats that competed (full and radial): 72

Total races sailed (including separate starts): 40

Number of different full rig winners: 4 (Eric Reitinger and Had Brick each had 2 wins)

Biggest total turnout: 25 (OCP)

Smallest turnout: 8 (Monmouth)

Now we finish the adult events until the fall. Here’s every Jr. regatta I could find and the link to the NOR if available. Just in time before programs start so you can print them out and have them available to the kids. Also depending on what YRA you are from they have weekly interclubs. MAYRA has junior stuff during the week (www.mayra.org) and adult racing during the weekends. LBIYRA (www.lbiyra.org) has their jr racing on wednesdays. BBYRA does their racing Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Anita Waters (SSYC’s fleet captain) report:

We had all manner of weather and wind! Lack of wind delayed the start, but as the sea breeze filled in at 11:15am, the day moved quickly from no wind to a good, steady breeze. Thirteen boats competed, including five radial rigs. Apart from the stellar performance of Eric Reitinger winning all five races in the full rig, the racing was close and variable throughout the day. Top three full rigs were Eric Reitinger (Brant Beach YC), Jack Swikart (SSYC) and Chris Williams (Brant Beach YC). Top three radials all hail from SSYC: Caroline Garth, Emily Kosinski and Robert Gruskos. Top Master Finishers: Ed Rowe (Portland, ME), Had Brick (Island Heights YC) and Larry Nociolo (MBC). Top Woman: Caroline Garth and Top Junior: Chris Pomerleau. Special thanks to the Munger family for servicing as PROs, to Brian Holsey for ably managing safety, mark placement and sailor hydration and to Anita Waters Sr and Amy Milnes for managing breakfast, lunch and libations. A very nice day on the water.

Online registration will be available tonight, Tuesday May 24th, and you can register on site for no extra fee.
